Heckethorn Lean / Six Sigma Implementation
Heckethorn Manufacturing is dedicated to continual improvement for the good of the company and to provide the highest quality product for our customers.
We are implementing Lean strategies through workshop training. A selected team of employees are trained in 5s, standard work, kanban, cell, SMED, visual management, TPM, error proofing, and value stream mapping. These well-trained individuals apply these tools throughout the facility.
Six Sigma is a methodology that provides businesses with the tools to improve the capability of their business processes. This increase in performance and decrease in process variation leads to reduction in defects and a vast improvement in profits and in the quality of the product.
The implementation of Six Sigma, at Heckethorn, consists of training Yellow Belts and Green Belts in the DMAIC methodology. We currently have a team of 1 Black Belt, 5 Green Belts and 30 Yellow Belts in our facility. This team of trained Six Sigma Leaders is responsible for using the tools of the DMAIC process on projects throughout the company for process improvements and to reduce variation in our processes.
